Major challenges, some of which are man-made, are at our doorstep in the third decade of the 21st century. However, these challenges cannot be solved through a negative worldview and a “surrender attitude”. On the other hand, humans have created enough vessels and systems (society, economy, science and politics) to be able to deal with the problems of the present. These vessels are there, and each and every person can, with their partial contributions, be pieces of the puzzle for the “overall solution”. And this is where the underlying idea of this website comes into play.

Because this platform is supposed to be about a world as it really is, far away from man-made systems and ideologies, as it stands and rotates here - with all its creatures, animals, natural wonders and other components. I would like to share my perceptions and experiences with people and nature. What is real, far away from what I have learned, what has been “instilled” in me and - above all - what I have instilled in myself over all these years.

In the first phase, communication will be mainly “unidirectional”, via the blog. The website will be gradually expanded over the coming years so that a platform for interaction and exchange can also be created. What will develop beyond that is still up in the air. But ideas are there.

Why the name “Don Philemon”? On the one hand, because I find it pleasant-sounding. On the other hand, because I was given "Don Philemon" as a nickname when I was younger by a childhood friend. But above all: Because the focus of this platform is not about me personally, but about impressions and stories from life - amusing and expanding. So my person is basically the “hook” or “bringer” for this. As you prefer. That's why I'm using my stage name here. So it's not at all about me feeling like a "don" or even superior. That's just to say :)

By the way, Don Philemon means the following: The name Philemon comes from Greek and stands for “the friendly one”. Don is synonymous with the polite expression of “Mr”. Put together, the meaning looks something like this: “Mister of Kindness”.

Now two or three sentences about me - as this might interest new people: I am a multi-layered and busy person, with very positive attitude. I am interested in people, but also in nature and the technological works installed by people. It's the combination that counts for me. And in collaboration, brilliant projects can emerge.

What do I wish for? That you have fun on this website and that I can contribute my part to the “overall solution”. Because in our present day there is far too much negativity and incredibly strong polarization between people and groups. Probably also triggered by promising ideologies and fears in an increasingly complex world. This website is meant to be a small counterpole.
